[metaslider id=113265] The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund held it’s Summer Kickoff Party on Monday, June 13 for this year’s scholar interns working in companies across the apparel business.

Students had an opportunity to network with their peers as well as the organization’s board members on an outdoor terrace at New York’s Starrett-Lehigh building, hosted by Sequential Brands.

A highlight of the event was the presentation by designer Joseph Abboud of a $5,000 check to Linsey Morales, who was named the Doug Ewert Men’s Wearhouse Scholar for 2016. The organization grants scholarships to college students seeking to enter the fashion business who compete each year by submitting case studies for judging.

Interns in the New York area are also exposed to a range of events and opportunities designed to enrich their summer experience and involve them in the fashion community.
