Schott 100th Anniversary
Schott NYC, the inventor of the iconic American leather motorcycle jacket, is celebrating its 100th year with two big events: the opening of a flagship store in Manhattan and a three-day retrospective exhibit at Openhouse Mulberry gallery.
The Schott team kicked off a weekend of festivities last night with an opening party at the gallery. The exhibit features new and vintage jackets, photographs and Perfecto-inspired art. Also on display are jackets painted by artists like Keith Haring, Jean-Michele Basquiat, Shepard Fairey and many more.
The flagship store, which opens today on Elizabeth Street, will sell Schott jackets, sportswear and other American-made brands.
Schott was founded in 1913 in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The company is still run by the Schott family and continues to produce jackets in their New Jersey factory.
