SHOP FOR A SHOP TO DEBUT WEEK OF MAY 4TH
With 12 great brands already committed to joining Shop For A Shop during the week of May 4th, specialty stores should soon be receiving some badly needed financial kickbacks. The brands so far involved in this fashion collective are Stantt, Faherty, Meyer, Luchiano Visconti, Swet Tailor, St. Johns Fragrance, Trafalgar, Armin Oehler, Dapper Classics, Zelli, Lucky Pants, and Ruth Graves Step USA. The immediate goal is to get seven more brands on board for an even 20, thereby maximizing the collective power of sharing e-mail lists, social media marketing, PR, and more to boost sales for that week.
The concept is simple: brands will collectively promote the event and their products online, designating a percentage of sales to go to their specialty store partners. Specialty stores are welcome to promote the event on their store websites or via their client list but this is totally optional: they will receive a percentage of sales regardless of their level of involvement. The reward for individual brands in the collective is increased consumer awareness of their product, potential new customers and the satisfaction of helping out their retail partners.
“We are thrilled by the response so far for Shop For A Shop,” says Stantt’s national sales director Katie McCarthy. “It’s been great to connect with like-minded brands with the same goal as us: to give back to our specialty store partners in a meaningful and impactful way. We hope to get several more brands to join the collective this week, so interested vendors should contact me as soon as possible at katie@stantt.com.”
This could be a very slippery slope.
