SLOWEAR READIES RETAIL EXPANSION

Slowear is beefing up its retail expansion with a plan to open 25 new stores around the world by 2023— strengthening its presence in the United States and Europe.

By the beginning of 2021, the Italian menswear company will have expanded to three additional locations in the U.S. – including its first store in Chicago and two additional shops in New York City. In New York, It will open its first Brooklyn outpost in Williamsburg and will add a West Village location, complementing the current Prince Street flagship.

The 1,150 square foot Chicago store opens today. Located in the West Loop, the open floor plan showcases a variety of product from the retail group’s brands — Incotex, Zanone, Glanshirt, and Montedoro — in addition to a curated selection of books, men’s skincare, and other lifestyle products. The store features a sitting area inviting customers to stop, relax, and enjoy an espresso or prosecco in the new neighborhood spot.

The opening of Chicago will be followed by the opening of Williamsburg on North 3rd Street at the end of October. This will mark the first store in the borough, and the second store in New York City. The expansion will not stop here. By 2023, the Italian retailer will expand to the West Coast, with openings planned for Los Angeles and San Francisco.

In Europe, the German market will also be a top priority with the recent opening of the Hamburg store and additional openings planned over the next three years in Dusseldorf and Berlin, among others.

“In light of the positive development of our 30 stores and despite these difficult and uncertain times, we’ve decided to accelerate our retail project,” said Roberto Compagno, CEO of Slowear. “This means that we’ll focus on an integrated development of our digital platform, slowear.com, with physical stores in an omnichannel perspective.”
