STAPLE TEAMS UP WITH NETFLIX’S ENTERGALACTIC, NEW ANIMATED STORY FROM KID CUDI AND KENYA BARRIS
Iconic streetwear brand STAPLE is collaborating with Netflix’s ENTERGALACTIC, a new animated series debuting on the subscription entertainment channel tomorrow. The story, developed by rapper, producer, and actor Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (“:The Harder They Fall,” “Don’t Look Up,” “Need for Speed”) and executive producer Kenya Barris (“Black-ish,” “Girls Trip,” “Shaft”), will be released along with Cudi’s 10th studio album, also titled “Entergalactic.”
Taking inspiration from the show’s colorful animation style, the STAPLE x ENTERGALACTIC collection features apparel and accessories, including a red “Closure” hoodie worn by main character Jabari. Other items include a T-Shirt, long sleeve, jacket, socks, beanie, and more. All items will be available for purchase tomorrow on the STAPLE website and Netflix.shop.
The story is about a young artist named Jabari — voiced by Mescudi — as he attempts to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari a step closer to the former when moving into his dream apartment introduces him to his new neighbor, photographer and it-girl Meadow, voiced by Jessica Williams. An explosion of art, music, and fashion, ENTERGALACTIC takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York. The all-star cast includes Ty Dolla $ign, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Teyana Taylor, Arturo Castro, and Macaulay Culkin.
