STOCKX TO PREMIERE DOCUMENTARY FEATURING DESIGNER REESE COOPER

by Stephen Garner

Premiering Wednesday, April 15th, StockX will release its collaborative documentary with fashion designer Reese Cooper, following some of the most pivotal moments for his brand. “We’re Not Particularly Talented, We Just Try Hard”, will premiere digitally in partnership with Highsnobiety.

The documentary marks the continued, multi-touchpoint relationship between StockX, the World’s first ‘Stock Market of Things’, and Cooper. The film provides viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the chaos of putting together his first women’s presentation for New York Fashion Week and digs into his decision to execute a runway show at Paris Fashion Week despite not making the official schedule.

Initially collaborating with the brand in early 2019, Cooper signed onto StockX’s influencer program, but as the designer grew, so did the relationship. With the support of the fast-growing online marketplace, Cooper was able to show two comprehensive collections at New York and Paris Fashion Weeks and earned accolades from his peers within the industry including being named Runner Up for the prestigious CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Award later that year. Reese Cooper’s eponymous label has been called the heritage brand of the future and has been worn by the likes of Bella Hadid, Travis Scott, and Todd Gurley. The documentary allows viewers to step inside the rising designer’s world, and follow him from his studio in Los Angeles to New York to Paris.

“When we were first getting to know Reese, his unique talent was very apparent,” said Tom Woodger, VP of cultural marketing at StockX. “It became clear through our continued partnership that we had tapped into a new generation of artist who is able to tell a bigger and more impactful story through his work. We’re thrilled that we were able to share an intimate look at that story with viewers.”

“Working with StockX on this project during such a formative time in my career has been a pivotal experience,” added Cooper. “I’m excited to share a glimpse into what it takes to be at the helm of an emerging brand trying to make a name for myself in the industry.”

“We’re Not Particularly Talented, We Just Try Hard” will premiere on Highsnobiety’s Youtube page at 3PM EDT following a live Q&A with Reese Cooper on the @Highsnobiety Instagram channel at 2PM. The Q&A will also include a conversation about the making of the film with its director, Jamie Delaney, who serves as senior content director at StockX.

As part of the documentary release, Cooper will make his NYFW “team shirt” available exclusively on StockX. Beginning April 15, in conjunction with the worldwide release of the film, interested buyers can place Bids on the tee on StockX.com. This exclusive collector’s item, worn by Reese Cooper himself in the documentary, has the title of the film “We’re Not Particularly Talented, We Just Try Hard” emblazoned on the back.
