New York – If you had an appointment with someone in New York this morning, there’s a good chance they didn’t make it. A band of severe thunderstorms, and even a couple of tornadoes came through just prior to rush hour, knocking out service on several subway lines, and suspending or disrupting service on all railroad lines as well. As a result, taxis and busses were almost impossible to find and commuting was generally a mess. Service at the airports was affected as well, and there were power outages, due to flooding or downed lines in several areas.
