TOMMY BAHAMA LAUNCHES INDIGO PALMS COLLECTION FOR FALL 2024

by John Russel Jones

Tommy Bahama has debuted Indigo Palms, a new lifestyle denim collection for men and women. Inspired by the year-round wearability of denim, Indigo Palms features sun-washed indigo, expertly crafted fits, and thoughtful details in everyday denim and denim-related sportswear designed to seamlessly merchandise with other pieces throughout the entire Tommy Bahama brand.

“Our goal with Indigo Palms is to help make Tommy Bahama your four-season go-to destination for head-to-toe dressing. We’ve designed Indigo Palms to incorporate some of our most popular products and fabrics, featuring greater softness and stretch,” explained Bradley O’Brien, EVP of Product Design and Development for Tommy Bahama. “We want Indigo Palms to both stand on its own and be easily outfitted with the broader Tommy Bahama collection.”

Tommy Bahama has already built quite a bottoms business with its Boracay pant, a 5-pocket stretch jean, and its Island Zone Performance models. Embracing stretch, this denim collection is built on two fits (a trimmer, more tailored fit and a relaxed version), in three fabrications. There is also a thin-wale corduroy model. The rest of the collection is built on that foundation, incorporating the brand’s design heritage. As O’Brien put it at the Chicago Collective, each piece has that “little sprinkle of sand.”

Encompassing knits, outerwear, sweaters, and shirts across price points, the collection will retail for an MSRP starting at $138 for the jeans and going up to $595 for the Collector’s Series Paradise Oasis Suede Bomber.

A few personal favorites from the new collection included a pale suede bomber with an indigo printed back panel, evoking not only Tommy Bahamas renowned collectible tropical shirts but also embroidered souvenir jackets. A suede trucker also fell firmly into the must-have lightweight outerwear category. Several other layering pieces were rendered in a chenille fleece, including one military-influenced matte olive pullover with a ¼-snap opening.

While the brand’s men’s denim business is a much larger part of the line, there is also a women’s component to the collection, building on the popularity of its skinny and boyfriend jean models. The women’s offering also included dresses, blouses, and lightweight outerwear.

The Indigo Palms collection will be available for Fall 2024 at select Tommy Bahama stores nationwide and tommybahama.com, as well as select specialty and department stores.
