UNIQLO SHOWCASES FALL COLLECTION AT FIRST-EVER GLOBAL LIFEWEAR PRESENTATION
Japanese retailer Uniqlo unveiled its fall/winter 2017 collection at the first-ever Global LifeWear presentation in New York City on Wednesday, March 29.
Models wore items from the collection as they walked a presentation setting inspired by the New York cityscape. The show served to celebrate Uniqlo’s “LifeWear” brand philosophy, which is dedicated to offering apparel that makes everyday life better, born from the brand’s Japanese values of simplicity, quality and craftsmanship.
The presentation began with a welcome from Tadashi Yanai, founder and CEO of Fast Retailing. This was followed by speeches from John C Jay, president of Global Creative for Fast Retailing, and Yuki Katsuta, SVP of Fast Retailing and Uniqlo Head of R&D. As part of the presentation, Uniqlo also announced its upcoming fall collaboration with JW Anderson, as reported by MR yesterday.
The LifeWear: NYC Presentation concluded with a cocktail event in the evening. Special guests included Jeffrey Deitch, KAWS, Baron Von Fancy, Nicola Formichetti, Jay Massacret, and Sebastian Suave amongst others.
