VILEBREQUIN COLLABORATES WITH KARL LAGERFELD ON BEACHWEAR CAPSULE, LAUNCHES SUNGLASSES
French swimwear and ready-to-wear brand Vilebrequin is collaborating with legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld this upcoming beach season for a summer capsule collection. The limited-edition collection of eight items includes men’s and women’s swimwear, beachwear and beach accessories. The collection will be available worldwide at select Karl Lagerfeld stores and Karl.com, in addition to Vilebrequin stores and vilebrequin.com, beginning in May 2017.
Inspired by iconic Rivieras and coastlines, the collection is grounded in a vibrant blue hue, offset by pops of crisp white and black. The men’s offering includes a polo shirt and two styles of swim shorts: one fitted with a flat-belt waist, and the other inspired by classic ‘70s silhouettes. The women’s offering features a bikini, a tunic and swim shorts. The collection is further complemented by a beach towel and a zip-top clutch. Prices range from $80 to $290.
Additionally, Vilebrequin is launching its first unisex sunglass line this month through a licensing deal with Australian eyewear manufacturer Sunshades Eyewear. The first sunshade collection will include 10 items that are each sculpted to fit both a male and female’s face while expertly combining handcrafted finishes that are custom to the Vilebrequin brand. The styles include modern yet classic shapes and are constructed with cutting edge metal frames and lenses that use Category 3 technology from optical systems manufacturer Carl Zeiss that are available in mono, mirror or polarized options.
The collection will be available at the end of this month for $95-$350 at Vilebrequin stores and online.
