Zachary Pell Taps Chuck Lucia as President
As part of its ongoing expansion plan, contemporary menswear line Zachary Prell has named Chuck Lucia as company president. Lucia, who boasts 25 years of experience in the menswear sector, most recently served as senior vice president of North American sales at Hugo Boss USA, where he rose through the ranks during his 17-year stint there.
He starts his new job, a newly created position, on Monday. He will oversee domestic and international wholesale sales and distribution, e-commerce, licensing and the launch of standalone Zachary Prell stores.
“I’m excited to join Zachary Prell as its new president at this pivotal moment in the brand’s development,” Lucia said in a statement. “I think the company is poised for significant growth across all categories within the menswear market and look forward to the unique opportunity to build this brand and collaborate with the entire Zachary Prell team.”
Zachary Prell founded his eponymous, New York-based line in 2008. It is now carried by about 200 doors in the USA from major department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks to smaller independents.
The brand is also ending its longtime association with Synergy Showroom as of this week. “A true sense of pride and privilege comes over me knowing we have been part of the humble beginnings of the brand during the 2008 launch and have shared in the success of having end things on high note this season which posted the strongest retail results to date,” wrote Synergy Showroom’s owner Alex Navarro on his Facebook page yesterday. “It assures me that even with minimal marketing or brand awareness in the 7 years tenure the formula of great product, strong retail support via trunk shows, product knowledge seminars and an unwavering commitment to building strong partnerships on both sides of the fence in many of best stores in country has worked.”
