by Stephen Garner

Today, Bloomingdale’s is reopening to its customers and community in New York City. Following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), state and local guidance, Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will offer contact-free curbside pick-up, as well as by-appointment shopping. Bloomingdale’s SoHo will operate with modified services and store hours from Noon to 5 p.m. Bloomingdale’s Upper West Side Outlet will also reopen today.

“As part of the fabric of the New York City community, Bloomingdale’s is excited and ready to welcome back our customers and neighbors,” said Tony Spring, chief executive officer of Bloomingdale’s. “We’ve introduced new safety precautions, enhanced sanitation measures, and services, to keep our community and store colleagues safe, and to allow customers to shop with us in a comfortable and convenient environment. We are proud to be New Yorkers, and we look forward to continuing to safely serve our neighbors whenever and however they are ready to shop.

At Bloomingdale’s 59th street, customers can safely browse their favorite selections of at-home comforts including luxury skincare, loungewear, bedding & bath, cookware, and home décor. The Carousel, Bloomingdale’s rotating pop-up shop, is open with its latest rendition, “Good Sports”, bringing together a colorful array of styles that celebrate summer’s favorite pastimes. The shop features everything from golf and tennis-inspired clothing to distinctive finds for enjoying the outdoors. Bloomingdale’s has also opened a new Wellness shop on the main floor offering a variety of masks, soaps, and sanitizing products. Customers can visit the Summer Shop on the second floor, featuring a selection of summer fashion and a pop-up from Staud. In addition, Forty Carrots at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street is open for takeout, with frozen yogurt also available via a yogurt truck located on 60th street for a limited time.

For customers shopping in-store, Bloomingdale’s has implemented enhanced safety and wellness procedures to help combat any potential health concerns, complying with the CDC’s recommended protocol. This includes frequent and enhanced cleaning in heavily trafficked areas and on hard surfaces; social distancing guidelines to maintain six feet between all customers and colleagues; sanitation stations in frequently visited locations throughout the store, plexiglass at select registers, and new fitting room procedures. Bloomingdale’s is also requiring colleagues to wear face masks, as well as performing daily colleague wellness checks before reporting to work.

Buy Online Pickup in Store and Contact-Free Curbside Pickup service is currently available at select Bloomingdale’s locations. Most orders placed on bloomingdales.com or the Bloomingdale’s mobile app by Noon will be available for same-day pick-up. Orders placed after Noon will be ready the following business day.

Customers can also choose to shop by appointment with Bloomingdale’s stylists, home stylists, jewelry consultants, and personal shoppers, providing an even more personalized and socially distanced shopping experience. Bloomingdale’s stylists can curate selections tailored to customer needs ranging from everyday dressing to home decorating needs.
