CONVERSE KICKS OF PRIDE WITH NEWEST COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

For its sixth annual Pride collection, Converse has created a graphically-driven footwear and apparel capsule.

The graphic, featuring jagged mountains that transition into free-flowing summits, unites the Chuck 70, Chuck Taylor All Star in high, low top, and platform versions, a new slide, as well as the Run Star Hike for the first time. On Converse By You, customizable options include the “All Star” patch, license plate, and laces – inspired by pride, bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, non-binary, and transgender, and unity flags for a more inclusive take on personal expression.

Since releasing its first Pride collection in 2015, Converse has donated more than $1.3 million in support of local and global LGBTQIA+ organizations, with contributions supporting safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth, education on issues directly impacting the community, and essential resources needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, a portion of LGBTQIA+ community funding from Converse’s ongoing partnership with the It Gets Better Project [IGBP] will support IGBP’s efforts to allow all individuals to find joy and freedom in being themselves on TikTok and Twitch during Pride month and beyond. Additional grants to support LGBTQIA+ youth were announced alongside the collection and are benefitting Ali Forney Center, BAGLY, and OUT MetroWest.

The Converse Pride Collection is now available on converse.com.
