DALLAS MEN’S SHOW WELCOMED MORE BUYERS AND BRANDS THIS SEASON

by MR Magazine Staff

The Dallas Market Center celebrated its largest menswear show in more than a decade. Boasting more than double the total exhibit space from the previous year, and more than 350 participating brands, the latest edition of the trade show held August 14-17 delivered traditional and contemporary lines for top menswear retailers eager to place orders.

The appointment-driven trade event offered men’s brands in apparel, accessories, and footwear on the 7th, 13th, and 15th floors of the World Trade Center. Hundreds of buyers traveled to Dallas to discover new lines, review returning brands, and network. Attendance was up 30 percent against a backdrop of retail renewal and a unique summer opportunity to see many of the leading brands in a single location.

“This show was unprecedented in many ways, but the results were extremely positive,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “We more than doubled the footprint of the show to showcase more brands in a convenient, safe, and welcoming marketplace. This is a pivot point for Dallas, demonstrating that we’re able to create a show that balances good business with good health.”

New exhibitors included Oxxford Clothes, Meyer Trousers, Calder Carmel, Stylistico, Gimo’s, Raffi, Joe’s Jeans, and J Brand, and dozens of others. They joined brands in permanent showrooms including Eton, Daniel Hechter, Tumi Outerwear, Robert Graham, Vineyard Vines, Barbour, Southern Marsh, and many others.

The market center enforced strict new measures that will remain in place for the foreseeable future. Protocols included mandatory face covering and daily temperature screenings, low-contact entry via the MarketFast Pass, enhanced cleaning with hospital-grade products, hundreds of hand-sanitizing stations, limited food service, no gatherings, and social distancing signage. Safety measures are also part of the marketplace design: open parking, large entryways, quick registration in multiple areas, wide hallways, multiple escalators, and showrooms with controlled access to allow distance between customers.

The next Dallas Men’s Show is January 23-25, 2021.
