DESIGNERS, WU TANG CLAN SHOW UP FOR BARNEYS ‘DROP’ EVENT IN L.A.

barneysBarneys New York kicked off day one of “thedropLA@barneys”, on Saturday, the second iteration of its two-day immersive experience, featuring over 20+ exclusive capsule collections, designer appearances, experiential installations and environments, unique in-store activations, and programming featuring some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment. Saturday’s festivities concluded with a special surprise performance from Wu Tang Clan presented by Live Nation.

Barneys New York released dozens of exclusive pieces from brands including Prada, Heron Preston, Fear Of God, Fendi, Moschino, Palm Angels, Givenchy, Balmain, Versace, Rick Owens, Fila, Greg Lauren, A-Cold-Wall*, Area, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist, John Elliott, Ksubi, Manolo Blahnik, Wu Wear, Birkenstock, Advisory Board Crystals, Beltology, and many more. Other exclusive releases at thedropLA@barneys include, Tupac by 424, Dickies Construct, Emrata x Spinelli Kilcollin, Onia x WeWoreWhat, Adaptation / Born X Raised, and exclusive Barneys New York x Jordyn Woods and Barneys New York x Justine Skye shoe collaborations. For those that were unable to attend, capsule collections are available on Barneys.com, along with several online exclusive pieces.

ThedropLA@barneys included personal appearances from designers: Jerry Lorenzo of Fear Of God, Heron Preston, Jeremy Scott of Moschino, Greg Lauren, Piotrek Panszczyk and Beckett Fogg of Area, John Elliott, Chris Gibbs of Union Los Angeles, Eli Azran of RtA, Jon Buscemi of Buscemi, Ali Fatourechi of Adaptation, Francesco Ragazzi of Palm Angels, Rami Mona of Renzo Cardoni, Guillermo Andrade of 424, and Rhuigi Villaseñor of Rhude. The Wu Tang Clan celebrating the relaunch of Wu Wear with an exclusive capsule collection at the dropLA. Guests also enjoy live entertainment, with DJ sets from Heron Preston, Mia Carucci, Siobhan Bell, and DJ Mathematics.

The event continued on Sunday with panel discussions featuring a variety of designers, influencers and fashion industry insiders. Aleali May, Heron Preston, and Drew Caldwell discussed the deeper meanings of luxury. Brendan Fowler, Ganna Bogdan, Guillermo Andrade of 424, and Ali Fatourechi of Adaptation discussed LA’s collaborative creative community. Piotrek Panszczyk & Beckett Fogg of Area, Candace Reels, Jayne Min, and Diana Gordon discussed how fashion is empowering women.
