FILA LAUNCHES NEW GRANT HILL STYLES
Fila is launching the GH3ONE3 collection with retired pro basketball player Grant Hill.
The drop includes two limited-edition silhouettes: the Grant Hill 3 and the V94M. Each designed in a teal, black, yellow, and red colorway, the shoes pay homage to the uniform Hill wore while playing in Detroit.
Fila’s partnership with Grant began in 1994 when he was selected by Detroit as the third overall draft pick. He played for the team from 1994-2000, where he took the court in a series of signature Fila sneaker styles that fans continue to covet today.
The Grant Hill 3 ($125) was the third in a series of basketball shoes developed for Hill in the ‘90s. The high-top silhouette has been updated with new materials that include fine leather and suede overlays. It features a cushioned EVA midsole with large structural wrap, TPU graphic inlay, and custom herringbone traction elements. Originally released in 1994, the V94M ($110) is a chunky silhouette with bold blocks of color in the same teal, black, yellow, and red hues. Additional details include embroidered Fila branding on the tongue, midsole, and back counter. Both designs are packaged in a custom shoebox.
“The Grant Hill 3 was always my favorite Fila shoe with its distinct design and bold branding,” said Hill. “I spent much of my professional career in Detroit and I remember when our teal uniforms famously debuted in 1996. To bring this sneaker back in that custom colorway and to offer fans a modern version of this iconic silhouette is definitely something special.”
To further celebrate Detroit, a city that is especially meaningful to Hill, Fila and Grant will continue the court refurbishment program established together in 2019. The program first launched at Hillside Park in Durham. It will continue next summer with refurbishment at Chandler Park in Detroit, as part of an ongoing effort to give back to the community, support local youth, and create a fun and inviting space for kids to grow and play.
The Grant Hill 3 is now available and the V94M will be available on August 5th.
