FRED SEGAL KICKS OFF RESTAURANT POP-UP SERIES AT MALIBU STORE
Fred Segal is launching a limited-time restaurant residency program featuring some of Los Angeles’ most sought-after eateries. Kicking off the brand’s 60th Anniversary “Summer of Love” celebration, the 10-week long pop-up will run from May 14th to July 18th at Fred Segal’s Malibu Village store.
In support of Los Angeles’ restaurant community, each restaurant will receive its own weekend-long, rent-free pop-up space, available Friday through Sunday (on a case-by-case basis) from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The first restaurant kicking off the programming is the cult-followed Philly-inspired soft pretzel company, Shappy’s Pretzel Co. – founded by actor Adam Shapiro and started as a small pop-up in Studio City. Shappy’s will be followed by other Los Angeles favorites such as Ggiata Delicatessen, Bridgetown Roti, Golden Rice Co., PJ Baked, and more.
“As a brand that was born and raised in Los Angeles with over 60 years of heritage, Fred Segal is passionate about supporting small, local businesses that make our incredible city what it is,” said Jeff Lotman, CEO of Global Icons and Fred Segal chairman. “Restaurants are a huge part of our culture and what sets Los Angeles culture apart. During the past year, our local restaurants were hit hard which is why we are proud to support the restaurant community in this way.”
For the duration of the pop-up programming, Fred Segal will donate a portion of its proceeds to Heal the Bay, an environmental nonprofit and advocacy group focused on making the coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean.
The pop-up residency kicks off this weekend on May 14th and will run through July 18th at Fred Segal Malibu, located at 3822 Cross Creek Road.
