garrett LeightGarrett Leight California Optical has opened a pop-up shop at Dallas’ Forty Five Ten on Main.

In addition to displaying a curated selection of the brand’s best sellers and new spring/summer 2017 styles, the pop-up will exclusively debut the Nick Wooster x Garrett Leight collaboration collection of sunglasses. The glasses retail for $340. Wooster, who currently holds the position of Forty Five Ten’s men’s fashion director, will join Leight for a personal appearance at the store on Saturday, April 8 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Nick and I have always aligned in our strong appreciation for classic designs and quality product,” says Leight. “I could not think of a better partner to launch the project with then Forty Five Ten.”

Leight asked architecture firm West of West to blend GLCO’s classic approach to interior design with Forty Five Ten’s distinctive point of view and world class mix of the top designers in order to create the pop-up shop. “The GLCO visual brand identity references its Los Angeles roots: birch plywood, white surfaces and bright orange highlights,” states West of West partner, Clayton Taylor. “To align with the luxury identity of Forty Five Ten, we eschewed the use of plywood in favor of minimalist white planes, most evident in the large display box at the center of the installation flanked with angled mirrors to provide an infinite reflection. Meanwhile, the clustered round podiums reference the wooden peg display found in other GLCO stores while lending themselves to a more solid, richer appearance. Visitors to Forty Five Ten are encouraged to approach and interact with the displayed product from all sides.”
