MACY’S NAMES RICHARD A. LENNOX CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER

Macy's Herald SquareMacy’s, Inc. has appointed Richard A. Lennox as its new chief marketing officer, effective September 15. Lennox succeeds Martine Reardon, who left the company in May 2016 after 32 years of service.

In this role, Lennox will have responsibility for Macy’s omni-channel market presence and strategy, including brand, promotional, store, digital and events marketing activity. He will report to Macy’s, Inc. president Jeff Gennette and join the company’s executive committee.

Lennox, 51, has most recently served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Toys “R” Us since 2014, with responsibility for all components of marketing strategy for the company’s portfolio of brands. This includes leading the development of brand strategy and optimizing the company’s marketing and digital presence to drive sales growth and customer loyalty. Among his accomplishments, Lennox led the creation of the highly successful Toys “R” Us “awesome” brand position and marketing campaigns.

He has also held several executive positions at Zales Corporation and advertising firm J. Walter Thompson.
