Perry Ellis International (PEI) is launching a new philanthropic initiative in its efforts to support its community during the COVID-19 health crisis. The fashion company and its family of brands (including Perry Ellis, Original Penguin, Cubavera, and Rafaella) will support and give back to those on the healthcare frontlines through #PerryEllisInternationalCares.

The tiered initiative includes a primary philanthropic partnership with the First Responders Children’s Foundation, healthcare donations, and individual brand partnerships that focus on those doing good and making positive contributions to society.

The company says it will serve as the retail and apparel ambassador for the First Responders Children’s Foundation. In this role, PEI will participate in, and develop a number of fundraising initiatives including a corporate donation, a direct consumer donation link on PEI brand sites, a social media partnership featuring first responders, and partner on upcoming FRCF events. The ultimate goal of this partnership is to raise both funds and awareness for this very worthy cause and organization.

“We will focus our efforts on taking a humanitarian approach to how we support others in this unprecedented time,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, president and CEO of Perry Ellis International. “Giving back has always been part of our company and family DNA. Communicating a message of future positivity and optimism is essential and the core idea behind #PerryEIlisInternationalCares.”

“We are grateful to Perry Ellis International for their support as an ambassador to the fashion industry on behalf of the First Responders Children’s Fund,” added Jillian Crane, president of First Responders Children’s Foundation. “The Foundation is appealing to individuals across the country to donate by pledging to help a first responder during the pandemic. Let’s join together and take care of the first responders who are taking care of us and our families. There are several opportunities available for companies to support the Foundation, including a one-time donation, employee matching programs, and give-back initiatives.”

In recent months, PEI has made donations of personal protective equipment such as masks to various South Florida hospitals including Baptist Health South Florida Foundation, University of Miami Health System, Mt. Sinai Medical Center of South Florida, and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation.
