ROBERT GELLER DEBUTS “IMMIGRANT” T-SHIRT ONLINE TO HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR ACLU
After his fall/winter 2017 show that was inspired by political unrest and protest gear, German-born menswear designer Robert Geller took a bow in a t-shirt that read “Immigrant”, hand-painted by his wife, Ana Beatriz Lerario Geller, the morning before the show.
The T-shirt became famous overnight, gaining a lot of press. Following the success of the T-shirt, and in order to help a great cause, Geller teamed up with online retailer Grailed.com to create a limited-edition run of the “Immigrant” T-shirt.
Priced at $50, in standard sizes for men and women, the t-shirt is now available for purchase at Grailed.com. The proceeds of the sales will go to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and will be matched by Grailed.
“I saw a chance to use my platform to send a message about unity, love and inclusion,” said Geller. “The response has been incredible and I am thankful to have the opportunity to raise some money for the ACLU, an organization that is as important as ever during these times.”
“There is no denying this is a turbulent time for our nation and it falls to each of us to stand up for the values we believe in,” added Arun Gupta, CEO of Grailed. “Grailed is proud to team up with Robert Geller on this project and help support the ACLU and everyone fighting for human rights and equality everywhere.”
