SAKS AND BRUNELLO CUCINELLI HONOR 25 YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP WITH NEW YORK FLAGSHIP TAKEOVER AND EXCLUSIVE CAPSULE COLLECTION LAUNCH

by John Russel Jones

Last night Saks and Brunello Cucinelli hosted an intimate dinner at L’Avenue at Saks’ New York City flagship store to toast their 25-year partnership and the launch of Brunello Cucinelli’s exclusive capsule collection and first-ever fragrances at Saks. Mr. Cucinelli flew in from Italy with his family to serve as co-host for the event alongside Saks Chief Merchandising Officer Tracy Margolies. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a four-course meal of classic Italian dishes and a DJ set by Bec Adams.

Brunello Cucinelli

In honor of the partnership and launch, Brunello Cucinelli has taken over Saks’ iconic New York flagship with a special window display on Fifth Avenue and immersive installations throughout the store, on display now through October 30. Saks New York also recently unveiled new Brunello Cucinelli women’s and men’s boutiques, which have both expanded significantly in size and feature new design elements.

William Abadie

Guests for the evening included Lucy Liu, Phillipa Soo, William Abadie, James Turlington, Laura Brown, Amanda Nguyen, Ashley Stark, Cristina Ehrlich, Claiborne Swanson Frank, Toby Milstein, Marc Metrick, Roopal Patel, Carolina Cucinelli, Federica Cucinelli, Massimo Caronna, and more.

Exclusive Capsule Collection

Brunello Cucinelli’s exclusive fall capsule collection for Saks consists of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories that blend the fine craftsmanship, modern elegance, and timeless silhouettes for which Brunello Cucinelli is known, with a metropolitan touch that characterizes Saks and New York City. A neutral, muted color palette – inspired by Italy’s fine marbles, travertines, and pietra serena – sets the foundation for timeless pieces that can be dressed up or down for any occasion.

The men’s assortment is built around different moments and needs of the day: blazers and suits combined with knitwear for sophisticated nonchalance in true Brunello Cucinelli style; joggers for moments of downtime; and classic shawl collar cardigans and leather jackets for the weekend. Fabrics and natural yarns add texture to garments, including cashmere, corduroy, and cavalry twill.

The women’s assortment consists of versatile garments that mix and match with ease, including intricately crafted knitwear, everyday dresses, structured tailoring, denim, and leather jackets. Ideal for fall and winter weather, cozy cashmeres, soft shearlings, and iridescent suedes add elements of stylish protection.

The collection is available now exclusively on Saks.com and at 15 Saks Fifth Avenue stores across the country.

Saks NYC Flagship Takeover

Brunello Cucinelli has taken over Saks’ iconic New York flagship with a special Fifth Avenue window display and immersive visual installations throughout the store, on display now through October 30.

The captivating window display aims to reflect the fascination and value of slow travel. The train that travels through Saks’ storefront, The Solomeo Express, conveys an ideal train journey between two continents, between two countries, and between two cities as different as New York and Solomeo, the medieval Umbrian hamlet where Brunello Cucinelli is based, linked by a relationship based on the constant search for innovation, excellence and beauty.

The journey continues inside the store through five outposts located on different floors throughout the building. A train compartment with retro flair is stationed on the main floor, and phone booths are positioned on both sides of the women’s shoe floor. A bar cart is featured on the fourth floor housing womenswear, and a waiting room overflowing with luggage can be found on the men’s sixth floor. Both ready-to-wear floors are also home to Brunello Cucinelli’s newly renovated women’s and men’s shops, which have both increased significantly in size and feature vintage wood design elements meant to reflect the vibe of a typical Italian living room. Additionally, an important space on Saks’ beauty floor will be dedicated to Brunello Cucinelli’s new fragrance collection, bringing the scents and sensations of the Umbrian countryside to New York City.

Fragrance Launch

Saks is the exclusive wholesale partner in the U.S. for Brunello Cucinelli’s first-ever fragrance launch consisting of two eau de parfums – one for women, and one for men. The fragrances are inspired by the scents, evocative landscapes, medieval artwork, and strong sense of spirituality of the Italian countryside. Brunello Cucinelli Pour Femme, created by perfumer Daphné Bugey, captures the lightness of cashmere, which is signature to the brand, is felt through vetiver and cedar, along with warm hints of chestnut, pink pepper, and the zing of orange blossom. Brunello Cucinelli Pour Homme, created by master perfumer Olivier Cresp, features cypress and juniper form a zesty-woody base, brightened by Italian bergamot and lemon, and a touch of spicy ginger.

Brunello Cucinelli Parfums are available for purchase now on Saks.com and at Saks Fifth Avenue stores, three months in advance of other wholesale partners.

Digital Content

Digital content showcasing the capsule collection, the flagship takeover, and the fragrance launch will appear on Saks.com and across both brands’ social media channels, including an exclusive interview with Mr. Cucinelli on The Edit, Saks’ editorial hub for fashion news and style inspiration. Saks will also feature the capsule collection on both its women’s and men’s homepages on Saks.com.
