Shoppers Prefer Online Marketplaces For Repeat Purchases

Shoppers tend to discover new products and make their first purchase from a retailer, but prefer marketplaces like Amazon for subsequent purchases, according to a new study. The survey of 6,000 consumers conducted by Salesforce and Publicis.Sapient found that given a choice of retailers, brands, and marketplaces like Amazon, consumers said they made 50% of first-time purchases from retailers, followed by marketplaces (31%) and brands themselves (19%). But when it came to repeat purchases, marketplaces won 47% of repeat purchases, followed by retailers (34%) and direct from brands (20%). Read more at Forbes.
