STAMPD LAUNCHES NEW “THE MUMMY” COLLECTION WITH UNIVERSAL PICTURES
Los Angeles-based contemporary brand Stampd transformed its South La Brea flagship store into a showcase of movie artifacts, costumes, and props from Universal Pictures’ The Mummy to celebrate the limited-edition capsule collection designed by Stampd founder Chris Stamp.
Party guests from fashion, film, music, and design’s elite were the first to shop the nine-piece capsule collection, including the Vestige jacket and pant combo, trophy pieces include the sandblasted Mummy Flex bomber with functional straps and cargo pockets, translucent “Hell Hath No Fury” trench, and black-and-white Inscription jeans. The pieces are distressed by hand to achieve a vintage look and feature a sand and stone wash. DJ Maxv was spinning during the soiree while guests enjoyed cocktails during the event hosted by Stamp.
“Design has always been a broad, yet decisive concept for me. Design has no boundaries. As I have deep roots in L.A., film has always been an industry I’ve wanted to explore,” said Stamp. “When I was introduced to the modern yet ancient design aesthetic of The Mummy, I knew a creative collaboration with the film would give me a new platform to draw inspiration and that has given us the opportunity to take our designs and prints to a different level.”
The collection is now available to the public exclusively at Stampd’s flagship store located at 130 S. La Brea in Los Angeles and at www.stampd.com as of June 17.
