A LOOK AT HOW REAL GUYS ARE WEARING TAILORED CLOTHING
After taking a look at the current state of the tailored clothing market from a business standpoint, we wanted to see how this translated into the real world. So, on a crisp fall afternoon, we set out to Bryant Park to observe what the everyday guy was wearing. What we saw was an overwhelming amount of navy blue suits, but we did find some interesting pieces on our search.
Here we speak to 8 men about where they purchase tailored clothing, how often they do so, and why they dress up.

How often do you dress up? I dress up five days a week for work. I dress casually on the weekends.
Where do you typically shop for tailored clothing? I got this specific suit from Bloomingdales. I typically get most of my tailored clothing in department stores.
How often do you shop for tailored clothing? Only about once a year. I typically don’t shop a lot for dress clothes.

How often do you dress up? I dress up five days a week for work. Not so much on weekends.
Where do you typically shop for tailored clothing? There really isn’t a specific place I go. If I see something somewhere I like that fits I will buy it.

Where do you typically shop for tailored clothing? I usually buy them in department stores like Macy’s or Bloomingdales.

How often do you dress up? I’d say about 50/50. I don’t have to dress up for work, but I like to wear sportcoats around.

How often do you dress up? I have to dress up for work – so 5 days a week.
Where do you typically shop for tailored clothing? This one is from Indochino. I go there a lot for suits.
How often do you shop for tailored clothing? About only once a year. I don’t shop that often for dress clothes.

How often do you dress up? I dress up every day for work. I love to dress up, though. I wear blazers over the weekends as well.
Where do you typically shop for tailored clothing? I like to go to Paul Stuart, Century 21 and even Men’s Wearhouse.
How often do you shop for tailored clothing? I’d say once a month. I like to stay fresh.
