NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: MEN’S – HIGHLIGHTS

by William Buckley

Firstly, kudos to Steven Kolb, Mark Beckham and everyone at the CFDA for another successful New York Fashion Week: Men’s. With hurdles including scheduling and the transition to a new venue, last week’s New York showcase of America’s brightest menswear talent went off without a hitch.

The four days were back to back with shows, presentations and parties, and, speaking just for myself, but as someone who crammed in as much as possible, almost everything was seamless. I say almost only because of a slightly misjudged timing incident involving Macy’s INC, their event at One World Observatory, which was stunning, and an unexpected lack of taxis that resulted in a mad dash around the financial district by a pack of frantic fashion editors, bloggers and buyers including Bloomberg Pursuits, Monsieur Jerome, Scoop and Oh Antonio. The mad dash was back uptown to Clarkson Square North for the Siki Im show, which we made by the skin of our teeth. Other than that though, all ran like a well-oiled (and deeply chic) machine.

With nearly 50 shows, and no desire to overwhelm anyone, I’ve edited down to a few favorite shots and specific show coverage is linked below.
