SCHMOOZING: SAKS FIFTH AVENUE CELEBRATES ITS GRAND ENTRANCE INTO CANADA

On Wednesday, February 17, Saks Fifth Avenue president Marc Metrick and designer Phillip Lim hosted a private dinner and store preview to celebrate the opening of its first store in Canada at CF Toronto Eaton Centre.

The night commenced with a lavish cocktail party followed by a seated dinner amidst the designer attire on the flagship’s third floor. Metrick and Lim welcomed guests, such as Jeanne Beker, Suzanne Rogers, and Sylvia Mantella, to the store as they mingled, shopped and dined.

The following morning, on Thursday, February 18, HBC governor and executive chairman Richard Baker, HBC CEO Jerry Storch, Saks Fifth Avenue president Marc Metrick, Saks Fifth Avenue chief merchant Tracy Margolies, and Cadillac Fairview CEO John Sullivan publicly unveiled the Saks Fifth Avenue location with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony at its Queen Street entrance.

Saks Fifth Avenue’s second new store in Canada, at CF Sherway Gardens, will open next week, and feature two in-store cocktail events. The first, in partnership with American Express, will take place on February 23, and the second, in partnership with Trillium Health Partners-will be held on February 24. Members and supporters of these organizations will enjoy a unique preview of the new store, featuring shopping and entertainment especially tailored to enhance the overall experience. On February 25, the store will officially open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
